Beirut Beiti Maps

Role
Concept and cartography design

Beirut Beiti [Beirut, my home], is a series of maps of Beirut. I’ve designed the map in three bright color schemes: Bold Batinjen [bold eggplant], Deep Debs el Remmen [deep pomegranate molasses] and Leil Lebnen [night of Lebanon]

The prints have crisp vector shapes on a newspaper-like background. Upon closer inspection, the background is comprised of subtle Arabic typography; the words “Beirut beiti” repeat over and over, a mantra that forms a pattern.

The maps are printed in Beirut on premium quality textured cotton paper using archival ink.
